From Antigua to Edmonton: Sharon Kentish Joins the YEG Passport Rotary Club
On Sunday, April 13, the YEG Passport Rotary Club proudly welcomed its newest member, Sharon Kentish, in a touching induction ceremony that brought together Rotarians, friends, and her entire family. District Governor Brian Edwards had the honor of presenting Sharon with her Rotary pin, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her lifelong journey of service.
Sharon’s story spans continents and decades of impact. Originally from Antigua & Barbuda, she began her Rotary journey as an Interactor and rose through the ranks to become the Rotaract District 7030 Representative. Her leadership extended beyond service—she studied Law, Sociology, and Politics in college and was an active voice in student politics.
In her 20-year banking career, Sharon climbed to the position of Branch Manager at the Bank of Antigua. But when political challenges disrupted her path, she made the bold decision to start anew in Canada. Today, she continues her successful banking career with TD Bank and brings with her a renewed passion for community engagement.
Her induction wasn’t just symbolic—it was deeply personal. Surrounded by her husband, three children, and her mother, Sharon’s entrance into the Rotary family was a celebration of resilience, achievement, and new beginnings.
The YEG Passport Rotary Club is thrilled to welcome Sharon and looks forward to the energy, leadership, and heart she brings. Her life reflects Rotary’s core values: service above self, with a spirit that never stops giving.
Welcome to the family, Sharon. We’re glad you’re here.
