Chris Chukwunta, YEG Passport Rotary Club member and Co-President-Elect, was invited to a reception at Buckingham Palace by King Charles III on the occasion of the Commonwealth Day held March 13, 2023 - 10th anniversary of the Commonwealth Charter.

This was the first Commonwealth Day presided over by His Majesty King Charles III as King and Head of the Commonwealth, so the King was delighted to host leaders from the 56 Commonwealth member countries and major organisations to this reception at Buckingham Palace.

Chris was invited to the reception wearing several hats - he sits on the Commonwealth Engineers Council Board, Commonwealth Youth for Sustainable Urbanisation Steering Committee, and Commonwealth Sustainable Energy Transition Agenda.

There were many dignitaries at the reception including our Rotary International President, Jennifer Jones, the Duke and Duchess of Wales, and leaders and representatives from the 56 Commonwealth member countries.

Chris also joined the Kew Rotary Club, the Mayor East Sheen Councillor Julia Cambridge, Sarah Olney, MP and Jeremy Vine, BBC, at St Luke’s Church to participate in the Kew EcoFair. He also discussed potential opportunities for collaboration between YEG Passport Rotary Club and Kew Rotary Club London, with a focus on environmental projects and combating climate change through similar community initiatives.”
